1.     Machines are good at calculation, repetition, dealing with a huge amount of data, tasks that require accuracy and speed, working nonstop for long hours, and doing dangerous jobs.

2.     Machines lack flexibility. They need electricity. They don’t care about life.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), data scientists, software developers, information security analysts, renewable energy specialists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and mental health professionals

4.     Arts and music will be in higher in demand. Comedians can be more popular than now.

 

 

☆Hints for Points

1.      Computer specialists will always be in demand because it will always be humans that will control and improve machines.

2.      We need more renewable energy specialists as climate crisis is in progress. To soften the impact of it or, if possible, stop it, we need to handle global warming, which is an issue that requires effective renewable energy.

3.      The global population will keep increasing for more decades and ailment will increase as pollution will increase. Thus, medical personnel will increase.

4.      Mental health specialists will be needed more than now because the number of people suffering from mental health disorder is on the increase. The causes of mental diseases such as stress and loss of nature will even increase.

5.      Artists will be in higher demand. AI will never produce real arts because they don’t have human mind. As the world gets digitized, humans will appreciate arts more than now.

6.      Comedians and satirists will be precious because machines cannot acquire a sense of humor―even some humans will never understand humor. Skills to make humans laugh will never be copied by machines. Hence, humor and jobs to make people laugh will be popular more than now.

 

 

☆Sample Answer for Ideas and Expressions

【Thesis】Mainly along the line of Amy and Leon, I think garbage collectors will be higher in demand in that their jobs require an ability that robots and AI will never have: care about life.

【Supporting Details】They won’t be concerned about humans or life. When something that should not be in a garbage bin such as a baby that is too frail to cry out loud is in there, they may have no problem executing their jobs because their purposes are to execute the goals that are programmed in them. Therefore, no matter how much garbage-collection trucks are automated, humans to watch the content of the garbage bin must be present during operation.

【Counterargument-treatment】Robots are programmed not to kill humans. However, they may not react when they encounter a small part of a human body or a dead animal. A human hunch can tell something is wrong with the garbage when machines don’t detect any anomaly.

【Conclusion】We cannot live without producing trash and garbage, and the global population is expected to increase until the mid-2080’s. Therefore, garbage collection will be necessary more than ever in the future, and human monitoring of garbage collection will always be in demand.
