and cultures. Although few global issues were related to
science before, many serious issues such as global warming, pandemic, mass
extinction, the Internet, and terrorism are related to science now.
●In addition to having knowledge
of science, science majors must learn history because technology has had huge
impacts on human history. For example, nuclear weapons, fossil fuels, chemical
fertilizers and insecticides are related to issues that are important now and
for the future.
